Brian Elliott, a wine writer, mentions the Torreón de Paredes Merlot Reserva Privada 2006 as "Pick of the Crop" in the DGB Life June 2008 (UK).

"This is a truly exceptional wine given its youth. A deep, almost purple, colour, the predominant aroma and flavour is of blackcurrants but there is also a complex backdrop of cherries and spice. The key thing is the balance between refreshing acidity and the cleary discernible yet unobtrusive tannin".
