New Releases 2006

Syrah 2005 Reserva
2005 vintage is the second commercial edition for Torreón de Paredes Syrah. This wine is a blend of 95% Syrah and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon aged for 8 months in a mix of French and American oak barrels.

It has deep and brilliant ruby-red colour, in the nose is intense with attractive and complex notes of ripe plum, smoke and jam. The mouth is smooth, warm with a long finish.

Chardonnay 2005 Reserva Privada
This 100% Chardonnay corresponds to a selection of hand picked grapes from our oldest vineyards. After a careful grape selection, the bunches were gently pressed in a pneumatic press and then the must was fermented in brand new French oak barrels brought especially from a Burgundy Cooperage for this purpose. The winemaking included weekly batonnages to ensure that the fine lees would remain in contact with the wine, thus heightening its buttery notes.
Golden yellow in colour. An elegant bouquet shows notes of ripe tropical fruits, banana and pineapple. The unctuous palate exhibits fine hints of vanilla and caramel with a long, balanced finish.
Starting this 2005 vintage, a finer, taller and heavier burgundy amber bottle has been chosen to enhance its presentation.

Carmenère 2005 Reserva, a new wine in the family

In March of 2006 Torreón de Paredes will introduce its first Vintage ever of Carmenère. This interesting red grape, which is becoming Chile’s flagship grape, is grown at our estate in Rengo, located at the upper reaches of the Cachapoal Valley (Rapel Region).

This limited edition of 6,000 bottles is a blend of 90% Carmenère and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon which was aged for 6 months in new French oak barrels. The wine shows a deep ruby-red colour, with dark shades of violet. The nose evokes black ripe fruits, cherries, blackberries, cassis with black chocolate and vanilla notes from the oak aging. The palate is round, supple and complex with firm tannins that ensure its potential for aging gracefully in the bottle.
